Lady Dottie and the Diamonds - Every 2nd and 4th Thursday
Name of Event:
Originally a gospel singer, Dorothy Mae "Lady Dottie" Whitsett's early career included performing with Kool and the Gang and Clarence Carter, among others. Back then, she called herself Miss Dynamite, moving around from residences in Alabama, New Jersey, Portland, Seattle, and Atlanta.
After moving from Atlanta to San Diego in 1984, she eventually formed a jazz duo after meeting keyboardist Joey Guevara in a local piano bar. They were joined by Guevara's bandmates from Operator X, Stephen Rey (bass) and Brian Cantrell (drums). Rounding out the band are two guitarists, Isaiah Mitchell and Nathan Beale (of Dirty Sweet), as well as Joey's brother Dan Guevara on horns.
The band won two 2007 San Diego Music Awards, for Best Blues and Best Blues Album, as well as landing Best Blues again in 2008. They earned another Best Blues Album award in September 2009.
As of 2009, they're signed with Hi-Speed Soul Records, a label launched by local music store M-Theory Record. (San Diego Reader)

ARTISTIC:
DJ Artistic has invested millions in the Bank of Hip Hop. Every day with every step he takes, he tries to embody the heart and soul that fuels the music he loves so dearly. When he’s behind the decks, he lets the crowd dictate what they want to hear; playing to the energy, the mood and the groove, instead of what’s popular on the charts.
Beatnick's love affair with music began at a young age with the heavy rotation of his parents' disco records (breaking their record player) and staying up late on weekends to listen in on DJ mix shows in grade school. Hearing the call of music, Beatnick would sneak out to attend underground parties, fascinated by DJ Mixtape's by Rob One (R.I.P.) & DJ Drez and the ability to create a vibe and control the people's emotions. His lifelong love for music translated into a deep passion for collecting vinyl and sharing his love with others through DJ'ing. His style exudes all forms of soul music. A musical buffet of Hip-Hip, Reggae, House & Soul make up his distinct sound.

"L.A. remix duo extracts a few key slivers from Michael Jackson's disco-werewolf epic and creates a blissfully stuttery electro-funk strut that Daft Punk should snap up anon."
-Spin Magazine
"Villains are an LA party machine, revving up tracks like 'Hunting For Witches' into full-on bangers."

DubDorado Presents Camo UFOs
Both lover's of old school UK Drum & Bass and Hardcore, Nate Day& I formed the alliance Camo UFOs.
Up late in the studio one night we put together a '94 style Jungle remix for Major Lazer’s hit PON DE FLOOR. The next day we sent it to Diplo, who liked it so much he decided to make it an official remix and release it, soon! Within a week it was getting played on BBC Radio One by Annie Mac and getting club play all over the world. We were pretty hype..
We then did an official remix for The Count and Sinden’s MEGA onFool’s Gold.
You can snatch that up at RCRDLBL.
We were stoked to see the MEGA remix got played by even more dope dj's including Toddla T on his BBC IN NEW DJ’s WE TRUST show.
We've since done official remixes for MIKE POSNER (J Records/RCA), DA HARDY BOYS (Money Studies) and NOUVEAU YORICAN (Sound Pellegrino), which is the newest project from Laidback Luke and Gina Turner!
We've also rocked a couple DJ sets... with many more coming soon.

Pase Rock!! ($5 Cover)
Pase proclaims, “All the time party rockin, never stoppin. Pase, P-Pase, (picky -picky) Pase Rock. Given name Patrick Vaughn, rhymes with magic wand. You want the scoop? Here’s the scoop… It’s a new day. We global, son. You want my bio?
Here’s my bio… I’m alive sucka!”
“Get Monkey Kids” is a hip-hop gem, that uses electronic beats and succulent horn lines to complement the signature “get money” vocal lines. “So Fucking Disco”, hence the name, has a disco dance beat with smooth coruses and great percussion. Both songs have become club favorites in the electro / indie dance scene in Los Angeles.
A New Yorker with a flair for musical styles from around the world, Pase is destined to teach America in the ways of party music!
Two Fun Facts about Pase (& Two Blatant Lies too):
1. Pase Rock is the fullest and most complete realization of artist that God has yet created.
2. Pase Rock has been DJing since the age of nine, rocking recess with the freshest Schoolhouse Rock beats.
3. Pase Rock was conceived during an episode of The Love Boat (just as Isaac asked a bar patron, “What’s your pleasure?”).
4. Pase Rock has DJ’ed private parties for various famed personalities & corporate clients including Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Playboy, Oakley, Heineken, & more.

Computer Club (5/8/10)
The Computer Club sound first emerged from the studio of Mike Diasio in 2007 when System Recordings, one of the largest electronic music labels in the United States, tapped him to sign the single “Load Rocket.” The song, one of the first completed by Diasio under the geeky guise, carried Computer Club’s name into both traditional record label outlets and the burgeoning music blogosphere alike – a trend rarely seen in the heavily populated landscape of today’s dance music. Original songs like “Flat Response” and “Laptop Levitation” showcase Computer Club’s highly honed sound design and audio engineering skills, while his remixes of Nine Inch Nails, Prince and New Order illustrate his ability to adapt the best of the big names to the dancefloor.
Along with his impressive studio output, Computer Club is a well-accomplished DJ by any measure. His steady stream of gigs has him traveling to every corner of North America with regular stops in New York City, San Francisco and everywhere in between. From rocking a 30,000-strong crowd at L.A.’s Nocturnal Festival to dropping an intimate set for his former home of Atlanta, Computer Club constantly exhibits his deftness and versatility behind the decks.
While recent releases such as a remix of Mr. Oizo’s “Flat Beat” and his re-working of Konflict’s legendary Drum & Bass anthem “Messiah” with fellow producer/DJ Le Castle Vania have helped propel his name to new heights, Computer Club has started working on his debut album. Tentatively titled “Nerd Secrets,” the full-length promises to showcase a wide swath of musical styles, ranging from dancefloor-filling, hands-in-the-air bangers to straightforward rock songwriting to experimental weirdness.
In addition to his newly-minted Computer Club moniker, Mike continues to push the boundaries of dance music as one third of Evol Intent, a hard-hitting Drum & Bass trio considered by many fans and DJs alike to be the UK-rooted genre’s most talented American group. Initially known as purveyors of the toughest brand of D&B, their debut album “Era of Diversion” exhibits a musical variety influenced by everyone from Radiohead and Aphex Twin to Slayer and N.W.A.
